You want that ring!?!?!
May 5, 2011
As we all know men and women are different. We are built differently, we talk differently, and we even, usually, look differently. So, why then do we feel like we need to have the same ring? Men’s wedding rings are often an enlarged version of his wife’s wedding ring, and although this is very romantic, it is not always ideal.

Should we not all have the first and last say on the ring that we will be wearing everyday for the rest of our lives? Many couples set out to ring shop with very clear ideas of what wedding rings should look like, only to find out that their future spouse has an entirely different idea. One partner is set on having a white gold band; the other thinks it would be sweet to have a two toned, white and yellow gold band, representing the union of two people. Uh-oh!
This can be problematic, hence the newest trend: individual wedding ring shopping. Recently couples have begun to ring shop on their own, some taking it so far as to surprise their spouses on their wedding day with their choice of wedding ring. This allows both individuals to chose a ring with which they are comfortable and happy, free of the trials and tribulations of ring shopping together.
This allows both people to feel completely thrilled with their choice of wedding ring, and prevents any un-necessary pre-wedding tiffs. It makes for smooth sailing throughout the ceremony, and changes the “ughhhs” to “ahhhhs” upon presentation of the rings.
